This Friday, August 12, the award ceremony for the drawing contests was held, where the first place in each category by district was chosen, an activity in salute to the Traditional Festivals of the People of Managua.
The award ceremony was presided over by comrade Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of Managua, who expressed the commitment of the Good Government in promoting art and culture in the new generations.
"The prizes are being awarded to the children and young people who participated in the painting and drawing contest, an event that is part of that large number of activities that the Nicaraguan Institute of Culture (INC) and the Mayor's Office of Managua, the government of Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario have been celebrating this month of August,” said Armas.
During this contest, outstanding Nicaraguan plastic artists were honored, such as teachers Rodrigo Peñalba, Armando Morales, Leoncio Sáenz, Orlando Sobalvarro, Alejandro Canales, María Gallo and Arnoldo Guillén.
Children and young people between 9 and 19 years of age competed, where 400 works were presented and the best 21 were awarded, that is, the first places in each category by district, in addition to 2 special mentions in district 7. A the winners were given tablets, backpacks and teaching materials for painting.
