District Painting Contest in honor of Maestro Leoncio Sáenz

In celebration of the Traditional Festivities of the People of Managua, the Municipality held the Leoncio Sáenz In Memoriam Painting Contest, who was an outstanding Nicaraguan plastic artist and disciple of master Rodrigo Peñalba.

The competition took place in the 7 Districts of Managua with the participation of boys, girls, adolescents and young people, between 8 and 19 years of age; boys and girls from 8 to 12 years old participate in the first category; in the second it will be for adolescents between 13 and 16 years old and in the third young people between 17 and 19 years old will participate.

This activity was attended by Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who expressed the Sandinista Government's commitment to promoting art and culture; He also announced that the award ceremony for this contest will be this Friday, August 12, and the first place works in each category and for each District will be recognized.

“We are concluding a day of 7 district contests. Here in Colinas 110 we have boys with academic training in painting, because here there is a school called Leoncio Sáenz to whom the contest is dedicated, that indigenous painter from Matagalpa who did wonderful works in the city,” said the Director of Historical Heritage, Clemente Guido.
