“One of the main activities will be the delivery of the Stewardship of the Managua Festivities to Compañera Reyna Rueda, Mayor of Managua, by the Traditionalist Committees, the Leonel Rugama Cultural Movement and the Movement of artists who promote art and culture. of the municipality of Managua. This event will be this Saturday, July 23, at the Plaza de Colores in Puerto Salvador Allende, at 2:00 in the afternoon,” said Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales.
He also explained that in order to pay a worthy tribute to traditions and customs, an album called Fiestas de Managua was produced, which compiles popular music dedicated to the capital and its festivities, with the participation of the Municipal Band and groups from the Choirs of Managua.
To continue with these festivities of culture and tradition, this July 28 the new Chief of the Managua Festivities will be chosen in homage to the traditionalist Oscar Ruiz and on July 30 the Most Beautiful Cow “Chica Vaca” will be chosen, in the category children and adults, honoring the traditionalist Juana Francisca Villalta Lezama.
Similarly, there will be school graphite and acrylic drawing contests, the “Lencho Catarrán” municipal story contest, the “Chuno Blandón” Popular Theater Contest, as well as the District Music and Singing Contest, there will be a catwalk of fantasy costumes, galas artistic festivals, "Chinamotón" music and dance festivals, inauguration of the "Lolita Soriano" Museum in homage to the 100th anniversary of her birth and a discussion with folklorists and traditionalists of the municipality will be held, events that highlight all the idiosyncrasy and identity of Managua.
Oscar Pérez, National Coordinator of Sandinista Youth July 19, invited the people of Managua to be part of these popular festivals, "very happy to share this special moment for our capital, all of us from the Youth join together to continue enjoying and celebrating that inheritance from our parents and our grandparents.
