From the Michele Richardson Pool Complex, more than 50 swimmers from different clubs celebrated World Water Sports Day on July 13, with a successful competition.
The event was organized by the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua in coordination with the "Alexis Argüello" Sports Movement, the Nicaraguan Swimming Federation (FENANICA) and the Municipal Sports Company.
This competition was attended by the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, who explained that this is the second competition in a long pool to celebrate World Aquatic Sports Day.
“Always in the promotion of sports in our youth, today we will have competitions here at the Michele Richardson swimming pool complex, all afternoon the swimmers came to celebrate the Water Sports Day, we have swimmers from the Leones Marinos Municipal Academy and the clubs : Los Delfines, Los Sábalos and Nica swimmers, they will compete in the 50-meter hit in the styles; butterfly, back, chest and free”.
Noel González Sports Director confirmed that swimming will have three more events this year at the Managua 2022 Youth Games.
"After this competition come three more events in swimming, where more than 300 young people will compete here in these pools, in August the kids from districts I, II, III and IV will compete, in September the kids from districts V, VI and VII and in November, it would be the grand final where the winners of each district will compete,” added González.
