At the sound of the sirens, families from the different neighborhoods and communities of the municipality of Managua participated this Thursday, July 7, in the Second National Exercise in Preparation to Protect Life in a Multi-Threat Situation.

The practice of the drill began at 10:00 in the morning, when the teachers of the schools evacuated their students to safe places, as well as in the work centers and communities throughout the national territory.

In the Walter Ferreti neighborhood of District VI of Managua, several disaster scenarios were presented, one caused by an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale, where families were evacuated and the injured were rescued, the second scenario was the rescue of 2 people who fell into a riverbed and were dragged by the runoff from the rains and the third was caused by the collapse of a house and a person who was inside was rescued.

During the exercise, the residents expressed their enthusiasm for participating and knowing the evacuation routes, which allows them to know what to do in the event of a disaster, which helps to be prepared for any eventuality.
