Road improvement work in the Omar Torrijos neighborhood

In a family and community environment, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua delivered 7 paved blocks in the Omar Torrijos neighborhood, as part of the Streets for the People 2022 Program, which to date has progressed 78 percent, with 655 blocks served, of the 833 projected to improve this year.

With this work for the Common Good, 1,647 inhabitants of this neighborhood of District III, whose streets were previously dirt and difficult to access, become protagonists of rights, said the Secretary of the Council of Managua, Jennifer Porras López during the opening ceremony.

“We can tell the families of this neighborhood and of Managua that we continue to fulfill that transformation that our government of Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario is aiming for, accompanying the families working for more victories,” said Porras.

Doña Teresa Bonilla, who has lived in the community for more than 40 years, said she felt satisfied and saw a dream come true, "very happy and thanking our government for bringing improvements to our neighborhood, we can now travel in peace."

Likewise, the beneficiary Martha Ruiz expressed that this work significantly improves the living conditions of the families of this community, due to the fact that before the streets were impassable and with sources of contamination.

In addition to this work, the Municipality has built 6 decent homes in this neighborhood, guaranteeing better living conditions for the same number of families who lived in precarious and vulnerable conditions.

In this year 2022, the Sandinista Government is developing important works in District III, including road improvement projects, urban development, storm drainage and sanitary sewerage.
