From the Natural Park, located in front of Paseo Xolotlán, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua in conjunction with the Nicaraguan Institute for Municipal Development (INIFOM) began the call for the first contest in the capital "The Best and Most Colorful Gardens", with the aim of promoting traditional flower and plant decoration in the municipality and encouraging families to participate in the care and maintenance of their gardens.
This contest is organized by the Central Government, to publicize the most beautiful and creative gardens in Managua, which in addition to rewarding community gardens, will also reward the people of the capital who cultivate and maintain beautiful gardens in their homes with dedication, said the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, during the launch ceremony on the morning of this Thursday, June 23.
“Following the guidelines given to us by the government of Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, we are convoking this beautiful contest that encourages us to continue taking care of our environment, gardens, nurseries. In the case of Managua, the owners of beautiful gardens in their homes will be able to register in the districts to enter the contest, the other municipalities also participate, to have each time a Managua, a department and a greener, more beautiful, more beautiful country. Arms added.
Karen Hurtado, INIFOM Technician, called on families to join this Good Governance strategy and participate with their family and community gardens, "this will give life to all public spaces with tourism potential, we will assess the use of the different plants that we have in our territory rich in colours, bushes, plants and also the designs, so that the creativity of families and municipalities can be developed”.
During the months of June and July there will be calls and tours to assess the registered gardens, in the months of August and September the respective awards will be delivered.
Part of the parameters to take into account are the new garden designs, which contain a variety such as the Flor de Sacuanjoche, Flor de Waspa, Gentians, Begonias, Strawberry Trees, Pastoras, Milflores, Margaritas, Juanitas, Veraneras or Trinitarias, Diaper of the Child, Pines, Lemons, Monks, Indian Laurel, Grama, colored leaves, among other ornamental plants and flowers, as well as trees.
