On the afternoon of this Friday, June 17, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua commemorated the centenary of the birth of Lolita Soriano Estrada, an exemplary woman who joined social work through education and culture, leaving a beautiful legacy to the Nicaraguans.
The tribute was attended by the Secretary of the Managua Council, Jennifer Porras López, who highlighted that Lolita Soriano was a woman dedicated to noble causes, of men and women who dedicated themselves to the arts, "as the Mayor's Office of Managua we want to honor her contribution and as part of the strengthening of cultural programs, that is why we dedicate this evening”.
The Director of Historical Heritage of the Capital District, Compañero, Clemente Guido shared that Lolita Soriano has been named Heroic Promoter, "that is the title that our Compañera Rosario Murillo has given to Lola Soriano, because heroic is the one that in the years 40, 50, 60 without the backing of a national cultural policy of the State at a time when culture and the arts were not really given importance, as if they were given in the Revolution and in our times”.
During the commemorative act, a magazine focused on the life of Lolita Soriano was delivered, which was published by the Municipality through the Directorate of Historical Heritage in celebration of her birth on June 18, 1922, honor to whom she was declared godmother of Nicaraguans.
