First Judo Championship in the second edition of the Managua 2022 Youth Games

The young athletes from the Judo Academies of the capital gathered on the morning of Saturday, June 11, at the Rodolfo Rodríguez Alvarado "Los Quinchos" Preventive Center, located in the San Judas neighborhood of District III, where they demonstrated their acquired skills. on the first date of the Judo Championship, within the framework of the Managua 2022 Youth Games, in its second edition.

Judo schools from the 7 districts of Managua participated in this competition, which took place in a family atmosphere of great joy and discipline, in the categories: Children from 11 to 14 years old, Pre-Judo from 7 to 10 years old and it is the first of 4 events that will take place throughout this year, culminating in the month of December.

"We are grateful for the families' trust in our academies, for accompanying each of the athletes, which is of vital importance, and for our coaches who put soul, life and heart into each of these training sessions," said the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado presiding over this sporting event.

The mayor of the capital also announced that this martial art day coincided with the celebration of the first anniversary of the Leones Azules Judo Academy promoted by the Municipality, in compliance with the Sandinista Government's orientation to restore the rights of young people to the healthy recreation, in addition to the search for new talents in this discipline.

“We have never seen so many positive results in sports, but that has a lot to do with the provision of resources, only our Good Government has made dreams come true for young athletes, who have a sports infrastructure that allows us to hold both national and international events. international,” said Rueda.

Valeria Monroy, 11 years old, has started her training in this sport discipline 4 weeks ago and she was excited to participate now, in her first Judo tournament, "I feel nervous, but at the same time, I feel that I am going to win, I love these games.”

Also, the athlete Diego Zúñiga valued this type of tournament as excellent, which encourages the new generations to practice sports, "I train from Tuesday to Friday at the Primavera Judo Club in the IND, I feel prepared to win this tournament and I see that the level of preparation of all the boys is very good”.
