Children's Baseball Academies receive sports equipment in celebration of Children's Day

This June 1, in celebration of Children's Day, the Mayor's Office of Managua, in coordination with the Alexis Argüello sports movement, delivered sports equipment to the Children's Baseball Academies. The sports equipment was delivered on a sports afternoon at the Roberto Clemente stadium

During the delivery, the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, explained that these sports items guarantee better training and greater safety when practicing.

“Celebrating Children's Day with the different ballplayers from the baseball academies sponsored by the Managua Mayor's Office in different districts. We have children from the Villa Progreso area, the Marín Academy, the 14 de Septiembre Academy, the El Dorado ball field and the Roberto Clemente Stadium Academy, all these children who are passionate about baseball have great opportunities to achieve excellent results in the future. Thanks to the support of our government led by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, who invest significant funds for the development of the different sports disciplines, great baseball stars will emerge from these academies in a few years,” Armas emphasized.

Angélica Ramírez, manager of the Roberto Clemente school, explained that this material reinforces the children's safety by increasing the effectiveness of the practices.

"They are very useful, they will help us to continue preparing the children in their catcher, the helmets protect them and each contribution to our school encourages us to continue practicing and that they commit to giving their best in each practice."

Ramírez explained that in this academy there are 170 children, between 4 to 17 years old, from the Pee Wee category to the triple A category.
