Capital District provide immediate care to families affected by recent rains

In the early hours of April 26, municipal authorities toured Districts IV, VI and VII to assess the damage caused and provide necessary care to the families affected by the rain on Monday night, following the guidelines of the Good Government.

This tour was attended by the General Secretary of the Commune, Comrade Fidel Moreno Briones, who shared that the rain lasted 2 hours and a half in some areas, with a volume of water of more than 100 millimeters, which affected 23 sectors, with 156 homes flooded and 36 with roof damage due to strong winds.

“This is the first rain and if it is important, we have been seeing everything that has to do with disaster prevention and attention, following the instructions of Commander Daniel and Vice President Compañera Rosario so that the Winter Plan is completely ready, the cleaning of the major and minor system of the city of Managua is practically completed, after this rain we took advantage of the fact that there is garbage, sediment in the streets and in the riverbeds, to do a new cleaning of these areas”, Moreno detailed.

Also as part of the support and solidarity provided by the Sandinista Government, the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado, visited the Costa Rica, Primero de Mayo and Los Sábalos districts to deliver materials to the affected families.

“Today we delivered 290 zinc sheets, pads, rules and nails, to these 36 families from early hours, 22 homes with total roof losses, 14 semi-destroyed roofs and in some neighborhoods work is still being done on the removal of fallen trees. Here in District VI we are in the community of Los Sábalos, but we had damages in El Rodeo and Los Acetanos, in all the districts we have significant investments eliminating critical points”, said Rueda.

The Municipality continues on permanent surveillance 24/7 to provide timely care to families.
