Addressing the needs of the population, yet another family benefited from the construction of a new house, through the Solidarity Housing Program, executed by the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, in the Villa Nueva neighborhood, located in District III of the capital.
This is the protagonist Scarleth Elizabeth Mercado López, who has excelled in the discipline of weightlifting and has raised the name of Nicaragua, in different national and international competitions, winning gold, silver and bronze medals. in the Pan American, Central American and Caribbean Games, she, along with her husband and little daughter, lived for many years in critical conditions during the winter season in a small zinc house, today her rights to live with dignity have been restored.
“I am grateful to God, to the Government of Comandante Daniel Ortega, the Vice President, Compañera Rosario Murillo, Mayor Reyna Rueda, because they have helped me, I already have my little house, the water will not leak, thanks for making me happy” said an excited Mercado.
The House was handed over by the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who stated that families in difficult situations continue to be cared for, "within this Decent Housing Program for the year 2022 we have the goal of building 200 houses, of those 200 we have already built 26, with which we deliver today”.
With the Housing Program from 2016 to date, a total of 16 homes have been built in this District III and 8 new homes have been delivered in the Villa Nueva neighborhood alone.
Among the projects carried out in this District, is the improvement of storm drainage in the El Recreo Sur neighborhood, road improvement and construction of a community park in Lomas de San Judas, construction of a pedestrian bridge in the Camilo Ortega neighborhood and construction of curbs in the La Zacatera and Carlos Fonseca neighborhoods.
