Recital “Forever Blue” in homage to Rubén Darío

Families from the capital gathered this Sunday, February 6, at Paseo Xolotlán, to enjoy a poetry, piano and violin recital, organized by the Managua Mayor's Office as part of the activities in tribute to the 170th anniversary of Managua being elevated to Capital of the Republic of Nicaragua and in commemoration of the 106th anniversary of Rubén Darío's passage to another plane of life.

This event featured an exhibition of works of art from Dariana poetry, made by students from the Municipality's plastic arts schools, and an art exhibition with live painting, by artists from the municipal school of painting, inspired by the work of the distinguished poet.

The artists Alexia Torrentes and Emil Dupont set the poetry of the Father of Modernism to music, in themes such as Del Trópico, A Margarita Debayle, Cantos de Vida y Esperanza, A Francisca and Lo Fatal.

Likewise, there were performances of poetry set to music by artists Erick Hernández, Miguel A. Oviedo, Ronald Hernández, Jefrey Rubens, Osman Delgado and Santiago Cano, under the direction of maestro Ofilio Picón.
