On the occasion of commemorating the 106th anniversary of the passage to another plane of life of the Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío, the Honorable Council of Managua placed floral offerings at the monument erected to the Prince of Castilian Letters.
This ceremony was headed by the companion Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Mayor of the Citizen Power of Managua, who mentioned that at 106 years old there is a commitment to study the life and work of this national hero.
“We as a municipality make inter-institutional efforts to promote, above all, discovering the real Rubén. We know that we still have a long way to go to discover that magnificent poet who came to revolutionize the way of making poetry, and all Nicaraguans feel proud to belong to this land and that Rubén was born in it,” said Rueda.
The offerings were placed at the foot of the Rubén Darío monument, located between the National Theater and the Central Park of Managua, a marble sculpture, sculpted by the Italian architect Mario Favilli, in 1933, inspired by the poetry of the famous poet.
