Commune opening Basketball Academy in the Japanese park

With the aim of promoting sports and healthy recreation, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua inaugurated this Saturday, February 5, one more basketball academy in the Japan park, where children and adolescents from 6 to 17 years old can enroll.

Practices and training will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting at 3:00 in the afternoon and on Saturdays starting at 10 in the morning.

“We are going to have as instructor Ivania Arcia, who has been for more than 20 years in different academies and teams, today we inaugurate the Carlos Ulloa in Memoriam tournament, the idea is that all these children in the future can be part of those great teams that make up this great tournament”, said the Director of Sports of the Municipality, Noel González.

With the opening of this new academy, the healthy recreation promoted by the Good Government directed by Commander Daniel and the Vice President, Rosario Murillo, will be strengthened and will also allow the detection of new talents in this sport.

Ivania Arcia, instructor of this academy, called on children and young people to be part of this sports discipline, where they will be received with much love and affection, "healthy children, children studying, who do not think about drugs, who help their parents, healthy because sport is health”.

For his part, the boy Jery Barquero, one of the basketball members, expressed feeling very happy to belong to this academy and recommended that the other children be part of it, "don't be embarrassed and come play basketball, because it's great fun and they can achieve their dreams.”

This is the third basketball academy opened by the Municipality, along with those already located in the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores park and in the sports complex of the 14 de Septiembre “Hugo Chávez Frías”.

All children and young people interested in belonging to this academy and practicing basketball will be able to register on training days, totally free.
