Field Soccer League starts with at-risk youth from District I

The Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, in coordination with the Directorate of Internal Affairs of the National Police, inaugurated this Saturday, February 5, a field soccer league, with the participation of more than 300 young people at risk, divided into 30 teams. of the neighborhoods of District I, as announced by the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales.

“This is a joint day oriented by the Government of Comandante Daniel Ortega and Compañera Rosario to bring more recreation and more sports to the neighborhoods of Managua, in this case to the young people of Jonathan González, a very popular neighborhood where there are many young people. and we are opening this soccer league with the participation of colleagues from the National Police and 30 teams from the neighborhoods surrounding Jonathan González”, referred the mayor of the capital.

Armas highlighted the enthusiasm that young people have to practice this sport and above all to be part of this championship that will take place for 3 months, every Saturday from 1:00 in the afternoon, on the soccer field of the República school of Canada, located in the Jonathan González neighborhood.

“The important thing is to play, it is to play sports, to be distracted, to take physical conditions and here you do not see expensive uniforms, or big-brand cleats, here what there is and what is left over is the desire to play, to recreate, there is support, there are balls, the young they get dirty, but the important thing is that there is sport”, Armas specified.

During this sports afternoon, the municipal official shared that only young people who have addiction problems will participate in the league, with society and the objective is to incorporate them into this sports discipline that has had a great boom in both men and women.

Professor Karla Márquez stated that these events are committed to a healthy and quality recreation in young people, “it is important that these programs be given because in some way the boys are entertained, they have fun. Most of these young people follow them so that they become good boys, here everyone has fun and takes their minds off laziness and vices, that is why it is important that sports continue to be promoted and as a police institution, also a teacher We support them."
