National contest in digital art and photography dedicated to the Prince of Castilian Letters Rubén Darío

This Tuesday, January 18, from the Rubén Darío House Museum located on Paseo Xolotlán, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua made the call for the national digital art and photography contest, in honor of the 155th anniversary of the birth of the Universal Poet and father of modernism.

The municipal authorities detailed the contest as part of the Dariana event that began on January 18 and ends on February 10, registration is open, where two winners will be chosen, one in photography and the other in digital art, both will win 10 thousand cordobas each.

The Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, said that it is a novel event and in keeping with our times, "it is about developing an activity in different facets in the artistic, cultural, creative, modern, digital in homage to our greatest figure in our poetry”.

The requirements to participate will be on the official page and the platforms of the Municipality, each work must be inspired by the literary work of the poet and these will be received until February 04.

Donaldo Aguirre, deputy director of the Rubén Darío National Theater, said that this contest is also linked to the Managua Bicentennial celebration and explained the technical specifications of the works.

“The files can be sent in JPEG and elaborated in the Illustrator, Photoshop, Gimp or Corel Draw programs; with measurements of 1200×717 pixels, the style is free, the theme must always be In honor of Darío's life and work and the file must be sent to the Facebook inbox: Cultural Programs Mayor's Office of Managua, creativity is very important and Photomontage will not be accepted. The winner will get the prize through the likes he receives on that page," Aguirre said.
