This December 31, all the sports academies of the Mayor's Office of Managua honored the memory of the Puerto Rican major league player Roberto Clemente, who passed to immortality 49 years ago when he came to Nicaragua with help for those affected by the 1972 earthquake.
The act to honor his memory began with 49 chimes and the children raised 49 balloons, to remember the legacy of that great human being such as Roberto Clemente who offered his life in the hardest moments that Nicaragua lived.
In this commemorative act, the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, shared with all the athletes that make up the Municipal Academies that the Capital Commune is already preparing for next year, commemorating the 50th anniversary with great baseball games between Puerto Rico and Nicaragua. From the passage to the immortality of Roberto Clemente, the baseball games will begin after the month of April and will be held in various categories.
