Families from the capital enjoy an artistic dance gala "December in Nicaragua"

The Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, in coordination with the Nicaraguan Institute of Culture, held the Artistic Gala "December in Nicaragua", in the Tomás Borge amphitheater, with the participation of members of the municipal dance schools, on the occasion of celebrating the culmination of the 2021 school year.

The event was chaired by the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, accompanied by the Secretary of the Capital City Council, Jennifer Porras López, and Professor Mercedes Grijalva, Director of the Adán Castillo National School.

"We are in a cultural presentation organized by the Mayor's Office of Managua celebrating this December full of joy, full of emotion, this December full of cultural and very traditional activities for Nicaraguan families," said Armas.

This gala brought together almost 200 students from 3 to 20 years of age, who are part of the regular and Saturday courses of the municipal dance schools of District V, VII and Parque Las Madres, they delighted the public with their learning acquired during the year, performed in 22 choreographies alluding to the Gritería, the pastorela, the birth of the baby Jesus, among other pieces of the holiday season.

Mrs. Mercedes Grijalva, Director of the Adán Castillo National School, stressed that this show is the result of teamwork by the teaching staff of the National School of Dance, the students and the parents, “it is a very nice job, with a lot of perseverance , of a lot of discipline, of a lot of perseverance of children and young people, so that today we can present this cultural program”.

Grijalva commented that this staging of the different cultural, dance and theatrical expressions rescues, promotes and disseminates the traditions, which are part of the academic curriculum of these schools, which will restart their classes on January 6, 2022.

For her part, Mrs. Julia Menocal, who came to the amphitheater to enjoy her granddaughter's artistic number and was very happy with this activity that gives young people the opportunity to show their talent, "it is a very good activity, beautiful for all Nicaraguans who are witnessing this activity.”
