Municipal authorities visit the "Altars in honor of the Immaculate Conception of María"

In celebration of the traditional Shouting and as part of the strengthening of national culture and identity, the Mayor's Office of Citizen Power of Managua held the thirteenth edition of the "Altars in honor of the Immaculate Conception of Mary" contest, through which they will choose and They will award the 3 best altars from each of the 7 districts of the capital.

This contest was held on December 7, through a tour carried out by the qualifying jury of each district through the participating altars, where the established parameters will be qualified, such as the originality of the altar, using traditional elements, including the strawberry tree , natural flowers of the time, palm, in addition to containing a biblical message, something that transmits peace and harmony to the Nicaraguan people.

The tour was led by the companion Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Mayor of Managua, who stressed that this is an activity that promotes the rescue of cultural and religious traditions.

He also said that this contest will award 21 finalists, that is, the 3 best from each of the 7 districts, with 10,000 cordobas for first place, 8,000 cordobas for second place, and 6,000 cordobas for third place. In total, 168,000 cordobas will be awarded in cash to the winners and there will be special mentions.

During the visit to each of the altars, it began with the Los Madroños neighborhood, at the altar made by Mrs. Anibecy Guerrero, who won 3rd place in 2019 and 2020; as well as, followed by the altars of the families of Messrs. Francisco Solís Sánchez and Manuel González from the Monseñor Lezcano neighborhood and that of the family of Mrs. Lucía Cristina Caballero, who have obtained first place in District 2, on 4 occasions, in 3 contests the second place and in one year the third place.
