Building authorities visited the Laureles Sur neighborhood, on the morning of this Friday, November 5, to supervise the road improvement project that is being carried out for the benefit of approximately 14,000 inhabitants of this sector of Managua.
Comrade Fidel Moreno Briones, Secretary General of the Commune, announced that in this neighborhood they are working on the construction of 5 new blocks, through the Streets for the People Program, which to date reaches 86% progress, with 1 1,068 blocks completed, of the 1,242 blocks projected to be served this year.
The new road work has an investment cost of 3 million córdobas and is added to 10 infrastructure projects of different kinds, which have been carried out over the years in the Laureles Sur neighborhood.
During this tour, the beneficiary families accompanied Secretary Moreno, to thank him for this new work and also to present the needs in their community.
"We have shared with the families about what we are doing, about the present needs, in a permanent dialogue with the community in shared responsibility, the families always pose us problems of all kinds that we have to build," said the capital official.
From 2009 to date, the Municipality has invested more than 66 million córdobas in this neighborhood, in road improvement works, storm drainage, water and sanitation, construction of public and community spaces, as well as the construction of 35 decent homes.
