The Nicaraguan Institute for Municipal Development (INIFOM) awarded this Friday afternoon, October 15, a recognition to the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, for having obtained the First Place in the National Contest "Better Care Family Parks", contributing to the families have decent and beautiful recreation spaces.
Since last September, Inifom held the contest within the framework of the Bicentennial activities where it had different categories such as: best preserved monuments, historic houses, the cleanest municipality, fair parks, natural park, the best emblematic and family park .
The institution granted recognition to the Commune in the category of the best family park, being the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park that began to be rehabilitated in April 2011 and since then has become one of the favorite places for recreation of Nicaraguans of all the ages.
This park has a perimeter of 14 blocks, it is the largest recreational center in the country and its construction project has 7 stages.
The first stage of the project consisted of the perimeter closure of the 14 blocks of the park and the resettlement of 146 families that lived in the area.
"We are happy to receive this recognition from the Nicaraguan Institute for Municipal Development (INIFOM)," said the Mayor of Managua, Compañera Reyna Rueda Alvarado.
"We receive this recognition with much love on behalf of the workers who make it possible for the parks to be beautiful to receive families from all over Nicaragua and abroad," concluded the mayor of the capital.
