First Mini Volleyball Festival in Managua

On the morning of this Sunday, August 22, the First Mini Volleyball Festival was inaugurated, organized by the Municipality through the Sports Directorate, on the fields of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park, with the participation of 135 boys and girls between 6 and 12 years old, who will develop their skills in this sporting discipline.

This festival is held with the aim of training the teams for next September 5, which will be the National Mini Volleyball Championship.

The Secretary of the Managua Council, Jennifer Porras López, who accompanied this first festival, shared that these competitions contribute to strengthening the bonds of friendship between children and training them as sports professionals, practices promoted by Good Government, through all the mayors of the country.

“For us it is an honor to be part of the promotion of these new academies, to accompany these teams that today are going to discuss that friendly and fundamental game the conditions in which these children and their parents have put such security to give this sport to their children with confidence in this Municipality, through the Sports Directorate, so that every day we train new athletes who have left our academies, ”said Porras.

Likewise, the capital city official invited families to visit the facilities of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores park, which has different sports fields and urged parents to enroll their children in any of the academies of the Capital Commune, to promote healthy recreation in children.

Noel González, Director of Sports for the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, said that the municipal academies work from Monday to Friday, starting at 3 p.m., they are totally free and have qualified instructors for training.

For his part, Mr. Mario Erling Ríos from Chichigalpa and father of one of the participants was happy to be able to accompany his daughter in this competition, “it is a pleasure to come to the capital and bring our children to share different categories in what which is volleyball, it is a school that our children are really going to educate themselves little by little and every day they will grow in this sport ”.

There are 10 teams in total that face each other throughout the day, Managua will be represented by three teams, one from the IND, another from the Justo Fernández Academy and one from the Municipal Academy, teams from Estelí, Chichigalpa and Rivas also participate.
