Judo Children's and Youth Championship begins in Managua

As part of the Managua 2021 Youth Games, on the morning of this Sunday, August 22, the Judo Children's and Youth Championship was inaugurated at the facilities of the Nicaraguan Institute of Sports (IND).

The event at the level of Managua, had the participation of more than 60 children and young people, who will maintain their sports activity until the month of November, with a monthly meeting in the different academies that are participating.

"These children are in different academies, including the Managua Mayor's Office, those that operate in the San Judas market and that are already providing fighters in this beautiful discipline of Judo and that gives them the opportunity to continue competing with other academies at the Managua level ”, expressed colleague Noel González, Sports Director of the Municipality.

The Vice President of the Judo Federation in Nicaragua, Juanita Avellán, said that it is important for the federation to start with these events and gave her special thanks to the determined support of the Good Government, through the Mayor's Office of Managua.

Likewise, he thanked the parents who support their children in training every day, “we know that it is a sacrifice in the midst of this pandemic, but what better way to educate these children in a comprehensive way than by doing sports, for us it is very motivating and we hope that the best will win ”, he added.

This tournament began with the fight between the children Leonidas Huete and Hansel Duarte of the male 11-12 category, weight 28 kg, who among the emotion of the public present fought.

Among the competitors there was representation from the different academies of Managua and Ciudad Sandino.
