Construction of new streets begins in the Wholesale market

In homage to the Patron of the managuas, Santo Domingo de Guzmán, the Mayor's Office of Managua, this August 10 began the works to asphalt a little more than 8 blocks of totally new streets, in the center of the Mayoreo market, benefiting more than 2 1,700 merchants.

The road improvement project will be carried out in the Southeast part of the market, guaranteeing a better circulation in the vegetable and perishable warehouses.

The Secretary General of the commune, Fidel Moreno Briones, explained during a tour of the largest supply center in the country, that the new road work will improve vehicle access conditions, benefiting the thousands of visitors to the market and merchants who work in this point.

"This project will renovate 8 and a half blocks in the center of the market, which were deteriorated, talking with the merchants they have raised the need to improve the conditions of another vehicular access to the market, currently they only have one way of entry for the vehicles, but we are going to asphalt another access that is on land with Calles para el Pueblo, that will decongest the traffic at the main entrance and will benefit the users of more than 200 buses of urban routes and more than 500 interurban buses that daily they enter this shopping center, ”Moreno reported.

He also detailed that to give an immediate response to the thousands of merchants and visitors to this market, the earthworks will be carried out in the shortest time possible and the collating of the folder will be carried out in 10 days maximum, the 8 blocks will be ready at the end of August.

Merchants are sure that road traffic and access to the market will be more fluid, once the construction of streets is finished, as assured by Carmen Pastrán, who has been working at the Wholesale for 30 years.

"We are grateful to our government, because they are going to fix the streets and they are going to enable another entrance to the market, that will improve sales and improve access for suppliers, that means that the market will be well supplied to serve the buyers who visit us daily ”.
