With the aim of promoting sport in childhood and strengthening the talent of these new athletes, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua organized the first edition of the U-12 mini basketball league, with the participation of 6 teams, made up of 60 children. .
This children's basketball sports league was inaugurated by the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who expressed the commitment of the Good Government to support sport in its different disciplines, through these tournaments, as well as with the construction and rehabilitation of public spaces for the sport practice.
He also explained that the objective of this league is to implement and promote basketball in childhood, helping to maintain a healthy mind and recreate the child by doing sports; He also explained that this initiative will help capture and identify the future promises of this sport and strengthen its preparation.
The games in this sports day will be held on Saturdays from 10:00 am in the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park, among the participating teams there are representatives of the municipalities: Ciudad Sandino, Tipitapa, Mateare, one of the Mayor's Academy from Managua and 2 other teams, from the Capital city.
