Don Rafael de Jesús Cruz and his family are the new protagonists of the Dignified Housing Program in the Rubén Darío neighborhood, located in District I of Managua, who from today will live calmly and safely in their new home built by the Municipality and the solidarity of China (Taiwan).
"I feel very happy, because when I saw this house in the previous one I believe that it would not have resisted this winter that we are here, now I feel safe," said Don Rafael, who is an elderly adult who lives in the company of her two children with health problems.
The opening ceremony and delivery of the keys to the house was carried out by the Secretary of the Managua Council, Jennifer Porras López, and the Minister Counselor of Taiwan in Nicaragua, Mr. Iván Lo.
"We want to thank God for complying with the guidance of our government that we execute through the mayors, this Solidarity Housing plan is an emblematic program that since its inception has been able to transform the lives of many families," said Porras.
The capital city official shared that since 2011 to date, a total of 23 homes have been built in this neighborhood, including today, benefiting the same number of families who lived in vulnerable situations.
Likewise, he reported that in the Rubén Darío neighborhood, drainage works have been carried out through the construction of drains, manholes and gratings, in addition to road improvement using asphalt and paved pavement, guaranteeing the access of the population in 8 blocks of the neighborhood, in attention to the demands of the population.
For his part, the diplomat Lo, expressed that they are pleased to have the opportunity to work together with the capital's commune, “that is why every week we arrive in different neighborhoods of Managua and it is a project that will be carried out in several municipalities of the country. ”.
The Municipality plans for this year 2021 the execution of 8 projects in this District I, through the Annual Investment Plan (PIA) with an investment of 26 million córdobas and with the Streets for the People Program it will carry out 5 projects, with a estimated investment of 15 million 238 thousand córdobas. This emblematic program will benefit more than 31,000 residents of the René Cisneros, Jorge Dimitrov neighborhoods and the Jocote Dulce, Cruz del Paraíso and San Isidro de la Cruz Verde regions, where road improvement and storm drainage works will be carried out.
