Sierreños de Managua celebrate the traditional Vela de Toros

With a riot of cultural activities and traditional dishes, this Wednesday, July 28, the festivities in honor of Santo Domingo de Guzmán began in the Sierras de Managua, beginning with the customary traditional Vela de los Toros, an activity that took place in the Los Member of the District I of the Capital.

This activity was organized by the traditionalist Camilo Membreño, with the support of the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, as part of the rescue of our Nicaraguan culture.

The activity was attended by the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, who said that with this celebration the festivities in honor of Santo Domingo de Guzmán start, accompanied by marimba music and the tasty old Indian dish, which was offered free to the first 200 assistants.

For his part, Mr. Camilo Membreño, expressed that this is a tradition that is retaken, because with it the festivities began in the Sierras de Managua, which took place on the eve of the top of mounted bulls that ran through the Sierras. , followed by the dwelling of bulls in the barrier, the election of the Beautiful India, as well as the processions of the Traída y Dejada of the image of Santo Domingo de Guzmán.

"Today the committees are working and that is why this server promotes the free riding of calves and thus we do not let this tradition die", Membreño stressed.

He also announced that the party for the population was organized in conjunction with Los Coyunderos de la Cumbia, born in Las Sierritas and the Ticuantepe Philharmonic Band.
