Managua Council honors outstanding Nicaraguan athletes

In a solemn session of the Managua Council, the Municipal Order of Sports Excellence was awarded, in commemoration of the twelfth anniversary of the passage to another plane of life of the Three-time World Boxing Champion Alexis Argüello. 

The municipal order is delivered to national and foreign personalities, who stand out in the different sports disciplines and who contribute to the development of sport.

In this year 2021, the Managua Council decorated outstanding Nicaraguan athletes, who have made the name of Nicaragua shine internationally, giving glory to our country.

In this session, the distinctions were presented to Calixto Vargas, Nicaraguan baseball legend; Don Arturo Bone, billiard champion and member of the sports hall of fame; Marco Caballero Boxing Coach; the weightlifter Sema Nancy Loudrick Rivas, chosen in 2020 as the most outstanding athlete in Nicaragua and the engineer Martín Guevara, national chess champion.
