This July 1, family members, municipal authorities and friends paid tribute to the Three-time World Champion, Alexis Argüello Bohórquez (RIP) on his twelfth anniversary of his transition to immortality.
With a religious celebration in the chapel of the Jardines del Recuerdo cemetery and a floral offering, it was reaffirmed once again that the Knight of the Ring and his legacy lives on in every project or work that the Commune carries out for the common good.
The Mayor of the Town Alexis Argüello, is engraved in the memory of all Nicaraguans not only for the glory he brought to the country, but also for being an extraordinary citizen who was characterized by loving his homeland, promoting its development and promoting sport in childhood and youth.
The Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado, when sharing with the family and friends of the “flaco explosivo”, as he was known by some, reaffirmed that Arguello's legacy continues to bear fruit, although 12 years have passed since his departure.
“In each project we are inspired by that enthusiasm that our Mayor Alexis Argüello, world champion, had, we are inspired by those dreams that he had and that thanks to the political will of our good Government, all those dreams of dignity for Nicaraguan families are they are becoming a reality every day, in every Nicaraguan home ”.
The Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, shared that Arguello's enthusiasm, his mystique and his commitment when he had a project in mind and that love for helping people, is what makes him live in the memory of the people.
“Twelve years have passed and the enthusiasm of Alexis is fresh in our memory, in sports projects, in all the facilities that Commander Daniel has built and in all those new champions who are following Alexis's light and have guided his life to sport and that now we are honored with so many world championships in the different sports disciplines ”.
For her part, Karla Rizo, Argüello's widow, emphasized that in this new anniversary, her commitment to her husband is to continue defending the people's victories.
“We come to tell Alexis that, in this momentous year, we will continue working and fighting to continue seeing his dreams come true, Alexis dreamed of seeing the sports facilities with which the youth are achieving their growth in sport. Today we tell you that we are going to work tirelessly so that the people continue to have their rights restored ”.
