Decent housing program builds 3 emergency houses for families affected by fire in the Santa Ana neighborhood

To the sound of marimbas and with a cultural event, the inhabitants of the Santa Ana neighborhood celebrated the delivery of 3 new houses through the Dignified Housing Program, these were built as an emergency to give an immediate response to the families, which on Monday 21 of June, as a result of a fire, they lost their home where they lived for more than 20 years.

The protagonists are Ricardo Ramón Ríos, Celfida Isabel Hurtado Matus and Nela Nubenova Varela Ríos.

The Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado and the Ambassador of Taiwan in Nicaragua Mr. Jaime Chin-Mu Wu, confirmed once again their willingness to join forces to provide a rapid response to families in vulnerability.

“Today we are celebrating the joy of living and working in peace, there were eight days of intense work by a group of brothers who made an effort to build these houses as soon as possible, so that these families could recover their homes and this is achieved by the political will of Commander Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, to provide an immediate response to the emergency that seized these families and the solidarity of our brothers from China (Taiwan) who, without thinking about it, are always present supporting the restitution programs of rights that our government promotes ”, said the mayor of the capital.

During the delivery of the houses, the diplomat Wu, admired the speed with which the houses were built and announced that this program will be replicated in 50 municipalities of the country.

“These brothers lost everything, in a second, but they never lost hope that the government of President Daniel Ortega would give them an answer to their situation and in eight days this team built their new home, that is why We will continue supporting this program that transforms the lives of families in vulnerability and we will also take it to 50 more municipalities ”.

Doña Nela Varela Ríos, is the mother of three children and every day that the construction of the houses lasted, she was sheltered by the neighbors, while she resolved her situation.

“None of us have the words to thank the neighbors for their solidarity to help us, the Mayor's Office workers who were the first to arrive at the time of misfortune, our President who never forgets his people, especially the families who need it most and friends from China (Taiwan) who support this program ”.
