The Streets for the People Program in Managua is making good progress

On the afternoon of this Monday, June 7, comrade Fidel Moreno Briones, Secretary General of the Mayor's Office of Managua visited the Road Improvement Project on 15 de Septiembre Street in the Delicias del Volga sector of District II of the Capital, the which is executed through the Calles para el Pueblo program.

This road improvement project consists of the total reconstruction of 9 new blocks in this part of the Capital, with an investment of a little more than 3 million córdobas. The work is 70 % in progress and is expected to be completed in the next few days.

“We are on 15 de Septiembre street, one of the most iconic streets of old Managua, where we carry out a total reconstruction of the street; it has a lot of traffic ”, commented the Secretary General, Fidel Moreno Briones.

The official explained that the project will lift all the old asphalt that was very deteriorated, cracked and water was beginning to enter and with the vehicular traffic potholes were beginning to be made, which were more and more recurrent.

Likewise, he explained that with this work progress is being made in 443 improved streets, which represent the 54% of the 2021 Streets for the People Program and it is expected that, by the middle of the year, the progress will be above 60 percent, which has a investment of 287 million córdobas.
