In greeting to World Environment Day and committed to caring for our Mother Earth, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua held a new Cleaning Day in the Tiscapa Lagoon.
In this environmental conference, young environmentalists from the Municipality, UNAN-Managua and UPOLI collaborated, as well as officers from the Nicaraguan Army humanitarian brigade and transporters from the Capital.
The activity was chaired by the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, who announced that this is the fourth cleaning day that has been carried out so far this year and also, the installation of a Nicabarda was carried out, to reduce the pollution effects of this aquifer located in the center of the city.
The representatives of the Regional Union of Cooperatives of Collective Transport of Managua (URECOTRACO), expressed their commitment to preserve natural resources.
"In coordination with the Municipality, we are conducting trainings and seminars for bus drivers on the proper management of solid waste and the importance of caring for our environment, and in the coming days garbage deposits will be installed in the 835 units. of the urban collective transport of the capital and will be extended to the municipalities of Tipitapa and Ciudad Sandino ”, said the transporter Danilo Sánchez.
