Managua launches the Environmental Campaign "I promise not to use plastic bags, and you?"

With the aim of raising awareness to preserve natural resources, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, through the Environment Directorate, officially launched the campaign "I promise not to use plastic bags, and you?"

This environmental campaign is in commemoration of June 5, World Environment Day, in which environmental activities will be carried out to raise awareness among the capital's population about the importance of caring for Mother Earth.

“We are taking an educational message to residents of the municipality of Managua, about the environmental and health problems caused by the use of plastic bags, as well as the proper management of solid waste through this Environmental awareness day, in three points around the Laguna de Tiscapa”, said the Deputy Mayor of Managua, comrade Enrique Armas Rosales.

The Capital Commune delivered garbage bags at the traffic lights of the old Military Hospital, traffic lights of the José Martí bust and in the sector of the Ministry of the Interior.
