In commemoration of the first anniversary of the transit to another plane of life, of Don Otto de la Rocha, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua offered a cultural gala "Forever Aniceto", in which the legacy of this distinguished Nicaraguan artist was honored.
In homage, a theatrical work was staged in which some of the stories from the Lencho Catarrán program are interpreted, with the different characters created by Don Otto de la Rocha; in addition, a small concert was offered with the interpretation of some of their songs.
The celebration was presided over by the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who highlighted the indelible mark of this outstanding artist and stated that the Municipality made multiple recognitions, to which today is added, in gratitude for his valuable contributions to the national culture.
He also highlighted that among the awards granted is the Declaration of Beloved Son of Managua, the Bicentennial Order of the Loyal Villa de Managua and a Star in the Paseo Xolotlán.
Don Otto de la Rocha is a cultural human treasure, who for more than 70 years worked as a Nicaraguan singer-songwriter, composer and radio actor, known for characterizing the picaresque character of Aniceto Prieto, leaving his history and characters for future generations.
Likewise, in this event was present Mrs. Georgina Valdivia, who gave life together with her husband to many characters from Lencho Catarrán, thanking on behalf of the family, for the tribute made on their first anniversary.
