"Streets for the People" reaches 30 percent progress

At the end of March, the "Streets for the People 2021" Program achieved an advance of 30 percent, with a little more than 240 blocks served, as reported by Secretary General Fidel Moreno during the supervision visit to the improvement project road that runs in the Grenada neighborhood of District V.

The work has an investment of a little more than 3 million córdobas and benefits 4 thousand protagonists inhabitants of the neighborhood, with the coating of 13 totally new blocks with asphalt.

“The Streets for the People Program is 30 percent complete, compared to what we had planned for this year and closes the month of March with 240 blocks completed, in the city of Managua. In the Grenada neighborhood there are 13 new blocks, completing the 100% of the streets of the neighborhood and with this we are benefiting almost 4 thousand inhabitants ”, said the Secretary General.

Moreno recalled that the Grenada neighborhood is located in the downtown area of Managua, a very strong road articulation corridor in this area of the city.

"So, in addition to the prominence of families, which improves their conditions in a direct way, it also helps road traffic in these places with so much vehicular traffic in Managua," added Moreno.

María Teresa Obando, founder of the neighborhood and who has lived in the area for more than 45 years, explained that the lives of the families will change completely with this project.

“Today our neighborhood goes to another level with these streets, now if cars, taxis, ambulances will be able to enter, these streets were the dream of a lifetime and thanks to President Daniel today we were able to see that dream, now our commitment is to take care these streets ”, expressed the protagonist.
