The ecological activity was accompanied by the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who assured that the Municipality constantly develops plans and projects focused on the care and safeguarding of the natural resources of the capital city, “we have priorities in our work plans and a one of them is the care and preservation of the Environment, it is a primary issue for Good Governance led by Commander Daniel and Vice President Rosario ”, he stated.

Likewise, the mayor of the capital added that with this day, the Commune intends to raise awareness in the population about the existing problem, related to the contamination of Managua's water resources, which is aggravated due to two harmful effects, the first is climate change and the second has to do with the waste that falls into the Tiscapa lagoon, which are two environmental problems that affect the quality of the water and its existence.

"As young athletes we feel committed to contribute our sand gratin to take care of our environment and thus create awareness so that others join this cause," said Nancy Castellón, athlete and member of Managua FC.
