The Mayor's Office of Managua will replace more than 200 linear meters of sanitary drainage pipe in the San José neighborhood of District II, this water and sanitation work will be executed through the 2021 Annual Investment Plan, in a period of 45 days.
With this project, the capacity of the neighborhood health system will be expanded by more than 100 percent, since its capacity was designed for a smaller neighborhood and over the years the community grew.
Fidel Moreno, Secretary General of the Commune, reported that this project has an investment of 1 million córdobas and benefits 3,250 inhabitants of the area.
"This neighborhood has been in existence for more than 40 or 50 years and is part of the historic center of the city, with this project we will increase the capacity of the sanitary drainage, we will make 95 household connections to the system, this year in storm drainage we will carry out 12 projects, of these 6 will be held in District II ”, stated the Secretary General.
He also stressed that the storm drainage projects will benefit the oldest neighborhoods of the capital, where it is necessary to increase the capacity in the supply of drinking water, sanitary water system, to guarantee a good service to the families living in these neighborhoods.
Petrona Serrano has lived in the neighborhood for more than 30 years and explained that this work will end a problem that occurs when the rainy season arrives.
