The Streets for the People 2021 Program began this week with 7 percent progress on the proposed annual goal (830 blocks), with 54 blocks served, as reported by the Secretary General, Fidel Moreno during a tour of the Sierra Maestra neighborhood in District III, where the program will pave 4 new blocks that were previously unpaved.
The Road Improvement project has an investment of a few more than 2 million córdobas and directly benefits 6,120 protagonists.
Moreno explained that for the first quarter of the year the goal is to advance between 35 and 40 percent of progress, by March.
“We are in the Sierra Maestra neighborhood supervising another Street Project for the People, we have started this year with a very good rhythm, we have completed 54 blocks, for an advance of 7 percent of our global goal, this is the eighth project that we develop in this neighborhood. Before the end of January We expect to reach 10 percent of the Streets for the People Program and thus reach 35 or 40 percent of the program between next February and March, ”explained Secretary Fidel Moreno.
The municipal government has built concrete, cobblestone and asphalt streets in Sierra Maestra, and has also carried out drainage works with a total investment of around 30 million cordobas.
Coronado Meza Treminio is one of the founders of the neighborhood, more than 37 years ago and he thanked the government of President Ortega and the Municipality for this work, which for them is a dream come true. "We feel happy and we must give thanks to Jesus Christ who has given wisdom to Commander Daniel Ortega and comrade Rosario Murillo to carry out these works, our lives here were sad, every time it rained the houses were flooded, the water got into the houses down the slope of the street and in the summer there were dustbits, but thank God all that was left behind, "said the resident.[vc_images_carousel images=”37189,37190,37191,37192,37193,37194,37195,37175,37176,37177,37178,37179,37180,37182,37181,37183,37184,37185,37186,37187,37188″ img_size=”large”]
