Classes begin at the 12 children's baseball academies in the

Eager to learn the beautiful sport of Nicaragua, 800 children from the capital began their training sessions at the Children's Baseball Academies of the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua.

These children's baseball academies have been operating since 2014, there are currently 12 active academies in different neighborhoods of the capital, 14 sports promoters and 800 students, who at their young age have the desire to improve themselves in this sport, which has given them many glories to Nicaragua.

“We are very happy with the performance our children have had in each of the academies, practicing the beautiful sport of our country that has made history. To highlight the coaches who were players in the First Division at the time, who train our students with great affection ”, commented the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado.

The mayor of the capital thanked the children's parents for encouraging their children to practice this sport and invited young baseball fans who want to learn to come to the academies located in the Roberto Clemente children's stadium in the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park. , in the field of the Hugo Chávez Complex of September 14, in the Georgino Andrade, Nejapa, Villa Progreso, in the Americas 1, San Luis, Waspán Sur, Jorge Dimitrov, San Judas, El Dorado and Gadala María, in the District 2 in Managua, Monday through Thursday, from 2:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon.

Róger Marín, coach of the Villa Progreso Academy, highlighted the work carried out by the Sandinista Government for the benefit of children, that in addition to training them in a sports career, children have the opportunity to have fun and get away from vices.

"The government has supported the sport in all categories, and as you can see, there are 3 and 4 years old, who are already getting into baseball, and that seed hardly dies," he said.

William Flores outstanding little ball from the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Park Academy commented that he was happy to practice this sport. "Thanks to these academies I have been able to represent Nicaragua in international tournaments such as when we won in Reynosa, Mexico, I am very happy to belong here."

During this event, the Mayor of Managua delivered sports supplies to each of the baseball academies.
