With the aim of keeping the capital city clean, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, through the Directorate of the Environment, delivered 100 carts this morning to operators of the Municipality, for garbage collection.
The 100 carts will be distributed in the seven districts of Managua and mainly in tourist areas such as Paseo Xolotlán and Avenida de Bolívar a Chávez.
"Through the Environment Department, we have made many efforts to improve the living conditions of the residents of the capital by acquiring new equipment," said the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado.
Likewise, Rueda reported that cleaning has been increasing in tourist areas with these garbage collection carts that have a capacity of 0.5 cubic meters, strengthening the restitution of rights to health and cleanliness to the population, of a little more than million and a half of the capital.
These carts were manufactured by the Municipal Company for the Comprehensive Solid Waste Treatment (EMTRIDES), they have two tanks divided into solid waste, with which the operators will perform a more agile work and will contribute to their health, in addition, they have a durability between 10 to 15 years, they have an investment of 2 million córdobas.
“We have provided training to our workers, so that they have a better knowledge in the division of waste and we make a heartfelt appeal to the population, do not throw garbage where it is not authorized, do not throw from vehicles on the main avenues, because this will contribute to health, "concluded the Mayor of Managua.
