The little girls to Miss Teen 2020 participated in the reforestation day of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores park, which is part of the permanent campaign that the Capital Commune has to protect and maintain the environment and its natural resources.
The Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda explained that the Municipality since 2008 has carried out the permanent reforestation day in green areas and parks in the capital where the population demands it most, prioritizing the largest and most visited parks.
The permanent reforestation carried out by the Commune is parallel to the efforts of the Central Government led by Commander Daniel and Vice President Rosario Murillo, who through Marena and Inafor have planted more than a million forest and fruit plants in the country.
The candidates, together with the Mayor, planted 200 trees, including ornamental, fruit and timber trees, on the north side of the “Roberto Clemente” children's baseball stadium.
The Mayor said that it is intended to take advantage of the remainder of winter so that the plants stick, "with this we not only tree the park, we are also helping the birds have a safe habitat tomorrow," said the mayor of the capital.
He added that with this day “we are beginning a permanent reforestation crusade in the capital, we have already begun to reforest in Villa Jerusalen of the Bismarck Martínez Project, then we will continue in Ciudad Belén, Monte Nebo and the main tracks, to turn the city into a living lung for all managuas. The goal is to sow as much as possible ”, assured Rueda.
