After evaluating the damage caused by the strong gusts of winds that impacted at least 12 neighborhoods in District II, at 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, the municipal authorities began cleaning the debris and parallel To this, the necessary material was delivered for the replacement of the roofs in the affected houses and the reconstruction of the damaged houses in their entirety.
By presidential mandate, the accompaniment to the families was immediate, the Secretary General, Fidel Moreno in the last report confirmed that 111 homes were affected in the 4 neighborhoods where the natural phenomenon was concentrated.
“Among the damages caused there are 111 houses, of these 108 with partial damage and 3 totally collapsed houses, 14 people with minor injuries, thank God we have no loss of life to regret, the Disaster Mitigation and Prevention brigades were immediately activated at midnight when the natural phenomenon occurred, which guaranteed a quick response at the time of the emergency, ”explained Moreno.
At noon on Thursday 17, the decoration brigades removed 45 trees from the road that were knocked over by the wind, the ENATREL brigades restored the electricity service in the sector by 90 percent.
In the afternoon of this Thursday, the capital commune continued cleaning operations in the Catholic church "Sagrado Corazón de Jesús", in the Monseñor Lezcano neighborhood, since it was the most affected in this district.
"Following instructions from the President Commander and Vice President Rosario Murillo from early hours we began cleaning the Catholic Church Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, the roof has 500 square meters of area and suffered 80 percent damage, once we remove the debris we will proceed to the reconstruction of the same ”, explained Moreno.

Doña Mireya Montalván, has lived in Monsignor Lezcano for 30 years and relates that she experienced moments of anxiety, when the gusts of wind collapsed her home.
