The Alexis Argüello Sports Center was the scene of the 2020 Taekwondo Cup, which had the participation of 300 athletes from Chontales, Estelí, León, Chinandega, Masaya, Carazo and Managua.
This event was inaugurated by comrade Enrique Armas, who stated that this activity is part of the promotion of sport in its different disciplines promoted by Good Government, through the creation of municipal sports academies, the construction of sports infrastructure and the realization of these events.
For his part, Mr. Salvador Zavala, President of the Nicaraguan Taekwondo Federation stressed that thanks to the support provided by the Good Government to this sport, many achievements have already been made in recent years, reaching gold medals in international tournaments.
Likewise, Mrs. Jessenia Sánchez, mother of the family of one of the athletes, said she was grateful to the Sandinista government for the support it provides to the sport, an example of this is her son who entered the taekwondo academies of the Mayor's Office of Managua. and is now competing in national and international tournaments.
