Comuna Capitalina begins construction of vehicular bridge on 25 Street

The municipal authorities made an assessment of the progress of the Road Improvement Project that will expand 25 Calle, which will be the alternate route that the residents of the capital will use during the construction of the Juan Pablo II Track.

Fidel Moreno, Secretary General of the Municipality, explained that the largest and most complex work on the alternate route is the construction of the new vehicular bridge that will be located over the Cuajachillo riverbed.

"We are in the clearance works on 25 Calle, along this route we are going to build 3 bridges, we have started the drainage works to build the vehicular bridge over the channel, this will be the largest, it will be 15 meters long by 33 meters wide, its construction process will take 5 months with an investment of 14 million cordobas ”.

Moreno explained that the expansion of 25 Calle will be carried out in three stages, in each stage a section will be worked, the bridge is located in section number 3 and the works of this section have an investment of 68 million cordobas and will be financed with Own funds of the Commune, while sections I and II will be financed with funds from the John Paul II project.

“We have been developing drainage and clearance works for two weeks on the west side of 25th Street so as not to affect circulation, this will be the first bridge of the alternate route, in this first stage we are going to work on a 600-meter segment that arrive until the intersection of the Nunciature ”.

The 25 Calle in its three segments will be 4 lanes, this will join two important corridors such as the Batahola Radial Track and the United Nations Track, it will pass through the Altagracia neighborhoods in front of the Divino Pastor school, Batahola, it reaches the traffic lights of the Old Nunciature up to the traffic lights at the intersection of Colegio Benjamín Zeledón and the El Recreo neighborhood until reaching the United Nations Track.

25 Calle will be the second most important road corridor in the capital, which will link districts I, II and III, its expansion will be carried out in three stages, in each one, a section of the route will be worked, the works have a total investment of 158 million córdobas.
