With the aim of promoting healthy recreation and leisure through sports, the Mayor's Office of Managua opened the new beach volleyball academy on Paseo Xolotlán on August 1, the trainings are totally free and the practices will be directed by certified coaches.
The Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas, explained that the objective is to prepare the new promises in this sport.
“We have to continue producing values, producing players, outstanding players to keep conserving those medals, we have to keep practicing and training, we already have the facilities, we have the teachers and everything will be free, as directed by Commander Daniel and Vice President Rosario Murillo ”, Stressed the mayor.
The academy will have 2 instructors, Norman Largaespada and Gerlad Umaña.
The instructor Gerlad Umaña, expressed that with this academy they want to create a seedbed for children in beach volleyball, from 12 to 18 years old.
“To register, they only need to bring their birth certificate or identity card if they are over 16 years old. In the clothing they only need shorts, a shirt and comfortable shoes, but above all the interest and desire to learn ”, added the instructor who will be in charge of training the young athletes.
The academy will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 4:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon. Aimed at ages 12 to 18.
Umaña announced that the academy begins with 45 young people who have already practiced indoor volleyball for a year and urged those children and young people who have never practiced this sport and who are interested in being part of this new team, to enroll the training days at Paseo Xolotlán.
