"Streets for the People" reaches 42 percent progress, with 320 blocks covered

The "Streets for the People 2020" Program continues to benefit the managuas. This time, 1 thousand families that live in the Jonathan González neighborhood of District I were the protagonists, with the coating of 3.5 new blocks with asphalt.

The Secretary General, Fidel Moreno explained that the project has an investment that exceeds 2 million cordobas and with this road work the neighborhood becomes a new road corridor and at the same time, he stressed that in this area from 2015 to 2020, They have carried out 5 projects through “Calles para el Pueblo”.

"The “Streets for the People” Program to date has completed 320 blocks, that represents 42 percent of the 737 that we are going to do this year. Here at Jonathan González we have carried out 5 road improvement projects with "Streets for the People" and 4 Comprehensive Rain Drainage Projects, practically with this project and the one that we will develop in 2021, we will have built 100 percent of the neighborhood, when it assumed our government in 2009 there was not a single lined street in the neighborhood, "he said.

Moreno highlighted that in the last 5 years "Streets for the People" has lined a little more than 13 blocks in this neighborhood, with an investment that exceeds 13 million córdobas, this plus drainage projects, eliminate a severe critical point that it affected the 1,000 families that inhabit it.

"The neighborhood has become a new road corridor that connects the main street of the Military hospital to a main road and with all these projects, the severe critical point that affected a thousand families was reduced to 12 families, now we are only going to monitor it and vigilance at the time of the rains, thanks to the comprehensive management of all the projects that have been carried out from 2015 to 2020.
