Saluting the 125th anniversary of the birth of General Augusto C. Sandino, the first stone of the Bell of Peace monument was laid, which will be inaugurated next July Victorious, in celebration of 41/19.
The first stone was placed by authorities of the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, who stated that the monument will have a bell, with a total diameter of the structure of 1.8 meters, (1.76 m correspond to the bell), which will have a total height of 17 meters, of which 1.76 meters used by the bell and will weigh 7,690 pounds.
The tone of the bell will be heard in the central part of the capital, through an automated system that will announce the hours, it will ring every hour from 6:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night; The Angelus will also play at 6:00 in the morning, at noon and at 6:00 in the afternoon.
The tower's design will have a revolving crown and will be located at the intersection between Dupla Norte and Avenida de Bolívar a Chávez, in front of the Monument to the Popular Combatant.
The tower will have a viewpoint with access for visitors, who will be able to enjoy the view of the historic center of the capital and know the mechanism of the Peace Bell, which will have the legend engraved: "Always Beyond ... As Brothers and Sisters I will ring and I will touch the hours, for my Homeland Nicaragua ”.
