The implementation of the Winter 2020 Plan in the municipality of Managua is progressing 85%, reported Comrade Fidel Moreno Briones, Secretary General of the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, who visited the December 31st reservoir where he supervised the progress in the cleaning and de-sanding of this storm drain.
In this visit, he announced that the cleaning of gutters, gutters and drainage pipes had already been completed, he also stated that of the 21 micro-dams in the capital, 18 have already been completely cleaned and progress is being made in the micro-dams of the channel 31 December, Bariloche and the one located in Ciudad San Sebastián, which is expected to end in the next few days.
He also reported that progress is being made in cleaning 70 kilometers of lined riverbeds; as well as, in the construction of new works that carry an advance of the 81% in their execution.
Likewise, it was reported that in total, the winter plan consists of 3 components: cleaning and maintenance of the drainage, construction of new works and the preparation of families living in critical points, for which the Municipality allocated 113 million córdobas to the execution of this entire plan, which contributes to reducing floods and the vulnerability of families to rains.
