With a cultural and sports day, the residents of the Ayapal neighborhood inaugurated the five new blocks attacked by the "Streets for the People" Program. These streets were previously on land and when the Las Piedrecitas Overpass and 7 Sur were built, they were used as detour routes.
The Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas, highlighted the importance of this new project because it will change the lives of its inhabitants, since it is a main road.
“It is an afternoon of joy here, for the residents of the neighborhood, they are happy, because here there were tremendous dust clouds in the summer and in the winter, the street deteriorated a lot, this road was a priority for us, because it was a demand of the inhabitants, with this project 4,317 protagonists benefited, with an investment of 3 million 465 thousand córdobas. With these new streets, the neighborhood is already 70 percent with its lined streets, only a few secondary alleys remain ”.
Óscar Sovalvarro is one of the founders of the neighborhood and currently works coordinating the caponeros of the sector, he expressed that the wait of years came to an end, thanks to the work of the Central Government.
“Thank God, after 30 years, the dream of having our beautiful streets came true, the polvazales, the currents are over, the taxis will be able to enter, an ambulance will be able to enter, the kids already have a place to play for a while, thanks to Commander Daniel and the Mayor's Office who remembered this neighborhood ”.
The 2020 "Streets for the People" Program is 37 percent complete, this is equivalent to 268 completed blocks of 737 blocks that will be served in all its modalities and 5,581 meters of platforms, with an investment of 246.5 million córdobas.
